What’s on at the Hubs this week – 13th-16th March

Our latest weekly-drop in welcomes a guest speaker, while after the last Friday session was postponed due to the wintry weather, the next scheduled one is on. Here’s what we have going on this coming week:

Lovell Autism Hub – Tuesday 13th March – 3:30-7pm

First, we’re able to do personalised resources for the whole session. These can include autism alert cards, GP profiles, hospital passports and employment profiles.

Simon Phillips, Community Engagement Officer for West Yorkshire Police, will be in from 4:30pm. He will be talking to people about their experiences with the police and asking people about any tips they have for how the police could work better with autistic people.

He will do a short talk and then people can meet with him one-to-one if they prefer.

Next, Carers Leeds have their monthly Carers Group. It runs from 5pm to 6:30pm and is open to parents, carers and partners of autistic adults in Leeds.

Ian from the Chapeltown Citizens Advice Bureau is in for the whole session. He’s able to give useful information on a series of topics, particularly on personal finance and benefits such as Personal Independence Payments (PIP) and Employment Support Allowance (ESA).

Our staff and volunteers are in as usual to give limited advocacy support, along with information and signposting.

Friday Autism Hub – Friday 16th March – 4-7pm

Our Friday session for booked appointments is there if you need to see us but want to do so in a quieter setting. There, we can:

  • Give limited advocacy support
  • Provide information and signposting services
  • Offer information from the Chapeltown Citizens Advice Bureau
