Post-diagnostic support sessions

We are running a pilot project to provide fortnightly post-diagnostic support sessions to autistic adults in Leeds.

The sessions will be funded by the NHS Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group and will be for people who have received a diagnosis within six months of your initial appointment.

Starting in June 2019, we will be offering additional support for newly-diagnosed adults. We can offer you up to four appointments, including:

  • An initial appointment to find out what you need and go through relevant information
  • Up to two one-to-one appointments with a member of of our autistic staff team to explore your autism and strategies that may be helpful
  • A final appointment signposting to helpful support and helping you to put forward any needs
  • An option to attend our six-week support group, looking at autism in more detail

When and where?

The sessions are held every two weeks on Thursdays between 4pm and 8pm. They will take place at the Leeds Hearing and Sight Loss Service (BID) office in Leeds City Centre. It is on the Headrow, opposite the Leeds Art Gallery. They are a hearing and sight loss service that have offered us their premises as it is in a more central location.

Making a referral

To come along, you must book an appointment with us. To do so, you can contact us by email at leedsautismaim@advonet.org.uk or by calling us on 0113 244 0606. We will send you a referral form and then contact you to book an initial appointment.
